The Value of a Whole House Termite Warranty

Ecola Termite & Pest Control  offers two types of termite treatment options, a localized treatment, which includes a one-year warranty on the areas treated, or a more comprehensive treatment, which includes a two-year full structure warranty.

Typically, we recommend comprehensive treatments. That’s because the material we use stays in the wood and will continue to protect. If you have future infestations, they shouldn’t occur in the areas treated. Also, in San Diego, it’s not “if” it’s “when” when it comes to termites, so if you want to truly protect one your biggest investments, Ecola Termite & Pest Control’s full structure warranty is the way to go.

We were recently at a long term customer’s house completing his annual inspection. This individual puts in a lot of time and effort maintaining his home. It’s well painted, he’s made all the necessary wood repairs and has Ecola Termite & Pest Control  out every year to inspect.

This year, we found a couple piles of drywood termite droppings on the carpet in one of his upstairs bedrooms. The pile was condensed, so our first thought was they were coming from the nearby baseboard. If they were coming from the customer’s wood paneled ceiling, the droppings would have been more spread out. We examined the baseboard but couldn’t locate a kickout (the spot where termites push out their droppings). We noticed that there was a pile of droppings in the indention in the carpet, where the couch leg resided. We turned the couch on its side and discovered drywood termites in the wood footing.

This was one of the last places we’d expect to find termites. The couch leg was made out of hard, stained wood. Most often, we find termites outside, in the eaves or in the attic.

The couch footing was treated, and that should take care of the issue. Our customer has peace of mind knowing that if our treatment isn’t effective, or if any other termite activity presents itself, we’ll come back out, at no extra charge.

If you’d like to experience the same peace of mind with your home, contact the professionals at Ecola Termite and Pest Control Services today. Visit us at www.EcolaTermite.com or call today at (800) 471-BUGS (2847). Free estimates cheerfully quoted over the phone!
